Torah Study and Service – 11 am

October 20, 2018 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Torah Study and Service – 11 am
Location:  JCC Room 150D

We first study one aspect of the Parshah of Lech L’cha (Genesis Chapter 12:1 – 12:27).

MEDITATION TOPICS:
Why did El Shaddai ask Sarai and Abram to leave Mesopotamia and what was right about Canaan? Can God surpass culture, homeland, and extended family? Famine vs. Scarcity. Why was Sarai kidnapped by Pharoah. Why did Lot and Abram separate? What were the terebinths or holy trees? Why did Abram build many altars? Abram as the wealthy warrior. What about Melchizedek? Did he originate the blessings over the wine and the bread? The Covenant is prime. The Mystery Covenant between the pieces. God’s dialogues with Abram. Sarai, Hagar, and the birth of Ishmael. Hagar and the Angel. The Covenant in the Flesh. Only now does Abram become Abraham, and Sarai becomes Sarah. Was circumcision the first ritual commandment given to the Hebrews?

After the morning service songs and prayers, we then are in one Aliyah with the Torah Reading.

We would love to have a Minyan for our Torah Service.

Please do RSVP to Rabbi Monty at: rabbimonty613@att.net  Thank you!
