Midrash as Kabbalah – Class #5

In this five part series, Rabbi Monty will present an overview of the teachings that permeated early Rabbinic Judaism and out of which Kabbalah would later emerge.

Knowledge of Hebrew is NOT required for this class.

LESSON 5 – WISDOM IS THE BASIS OF PROPHECY AND BACK TO THE BEGINNING – GENESIS AND HUMANITY:   Yahweh called Batyah, the adopting mother of Moses, “My Daughter!”  This is because she called Moses her “Son!”  Moses in Hebrew means “the educator” – “e-ducare” to be the one who draws out – and that is the essence of the Prophets of YHWH.  Adonai is manifest when all of humanity is submitting to the Holy Spirit and marrying the secular to the sacred, this being called the Messianic Age.  Qualities of Wisdom “Amon.”  BeReishith = With Wisdom.  Midrash on the mosquitos and the worms.  Midrash on “subdue the earth.”  Everything is positive in the story of Adam and Eve including the message of questioning – Mt. Moriah –  Morah/ Torah/ Morim.  Midrash on Adam and Eve and the trees. The prophetic view from Joel 3:1.
