Torah Study and Service – 11 am
Location: JCC Room 150D
We first study one aspect of the Parshah of Shoftim (Deuteronomy Chapter 16:18 – 21:9).
The Judiciary; prohibitions on the Asherah pole, the stone pillar, or offerings animals with a defect. Prosecution of Apostates and need for witnesses; the High Court; the King; Endowments of the Levites; the Authority of the Prophet; Laws about Warfare (as per JPS-Tigay).
Then after the morning service songs and prayers, we are in one Aliyah with the Torah Reading.
